讲座题目:Systemic Change for Cities: Transition Pathways
讲座嘉宾:Steffen Lehmann
讲座地点:我院实验中心学术厅
讲座时间:2018年6月25日下午16:30-18:30
讲座内容简介:
In order to achieve our greenhouse gas reduction goals, we need to think about the urban form, density and the integration of green spaces. Solar collectors, sustainable water management and electric vehicles are all important, but much more can be achieved with better urban form. For cities to succeed in carbon reductions, a ‘science of cities’ is necessary that gives clear guidance and the evidence based required for decision making on future urban planning and development. There must be more focus on the optimisation of urban form, and transition pathways for existing cities to regenerate through smart land-use planning, infill development and new policies for zoning interventions. Most of the legal framework for cities is now over 15 years old, which means these policies have been formulated at a time without strong climate change impact awareness. How can we accelerate systemic change towards more resource-efficient, resilient and liveable cities? The increase of compactness to make cities more walkable is a way forward, combined with better access to green spaces and an increase in tree canopy cover.
